Is there any room in this analysis for the case where a history of state transitions can be compressed to reduce costs? I can imagine a lot of things where the private benefit decreases over time for transaction senders, to the point where they are really no longer relevant. If a transaction history is summarized then the cost to all other full nodes is decreased with respect to storage, which seems to be the most costly of the types of cost.
